A stack mold has two cavities and two cores on an inside plane. Usually, it is used to form a large number of parts using a low clamping pressure.
With stack molds, the cost of molding is reduced because the projected area, which determines the class of a molding machine, is about half that of a normal mold. Stack molds are suitable for producing a large volume of thin parts.
